Remembering 9/11

Despite the political and religious contentions that sprung up during this year’s commemoration of the September 11, 2001 attacks, many have given their thoughts and prayers toward those who suffered the loss of loved ones, and those suffering from injury and sickness during humanitarian and rescue operations during that fateful day.

Judypie provides the following meditations for this week:

It was September 11, 2001, when the White House was evacuated -- people were fleeing to the nearest exits in mass exodus as stated by one of the White House employees. America was under attack!

Let us not grow weary and complacent -- there are people who want to destroy our nation. Rise up, O church of the Living God and pray...supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 [AMP]

Heavenly Father, thank You for the United States of America, which was founded upon religious freedom and Your Word. Thank You for the founding fathers, Lord, who looked to You for guidance to develop the kind of government that would be pleasing to You. Our president and his advisers need Your wisdom to safeguard freedom. By wisdom You laid the earth’s foundations, and by understanding You set the heavens in place. I pray that these leaders will turn their ears to wisdom and apply their hearts to understanding. May the light of Your word run swiftly and prevail throughout the USA, and Your love burn brightly in this land. Give us a rebirth of freedom, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it]
Proverbs 2:2 [AMP]

The Lord by skillful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens.
Proverbs 3:19 [AMP]

Now Stephen, full of grace (divine blessing and favor) and power (strength and ability) worked great wonders and signs (miracles) among the people.
Acts 6:8 [AMP]

But the Word of the Lord [concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] continued to grow and spread.
Acts 12:24 [AMP]

And so the Word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through Christ] scattered and spread throughout the whole region.
Acts 13:49 [AMP]

Thus the Word of the Lord [concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] grew and spread and intensified, prevailing mightily.
Acts 19:20 [AMP]

The Apostle Paul said that he had fought a good fight. The fight you are in is the good fight of faith. When you were born again, you were given a prayer armor, and now you are an enforcer of the triumphant victory Jesus won at Calvary.

Jesus stripped Satan of all his armor, and gave you spiritual weapons of warfare. You cannot be defeated if you stand, and having done all to stand, continue standing. The Word is your Sword, and victory is yours. You are an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.

10In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
11Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.
18Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).
Ephesians 6:10-18 [AMP]
