Cast The First Stone

“So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” (John 8:7)

They’ve got the woman, but
Where is the man?
He’s not important, just
part of the plan
(the plan...)
to entrap Jesus, the
Pharisees think
Religious phonies
they really stink
(and they...)
Don’t want His silence, they
want a response
What is He writing, hey
what’s that Guy on?
(writing...)
Could be their sins, or
could be some names
Jesus is better
than their cheap games

He said...

“If you’ve never heard of sin
cast the first stone
If your life ain’t perfect, then
leave her alone
I want you all to see
how I can set her free
with love alone
can anyone cast the first stone?”

They slowly backed away
Then picked up speed
They saw a sinner, but
He saw a need.
(Jesus...)
Thought they could fool Him, but
Found they were wrong
His anger’s short, and
Compassion’s long (Psalm 30:5)
(Savior...)

The woman looked up, and
she was alone
Nobody left there, to
cast the first stone...
(No one...)
That’s why He came here (to)
show us the way
Condemn your brother
and He will say

to you...

“If you’ve never heard of sin
cast the first stone
If your life ain’t perfect, then
leave her alone
I want you all to see
how I can set her free
with love alone
can anyone cast the first stone?”

Would you, Like Peter,
chop off her ear? (John 18:10)
Offend her spirit, so
she will not hear
(Would you...)
Would you put her out, and
lock the church door
Don’t you know Jesus (or)
what He came for?

“If you’ve never heard of sin
cast the first stone
If your life ain’t perfect, then
leave her alone
I want you all to see
how I can set her free
with love alone
can anyone cast the first stone?”
