Sneak Preview: Christ Died 4U

Our latest podcast presents seven minutes of wisdom entitled “Christ Died For You.” The core scripture for this teaching is Romans 5:6-10:

While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [resurrection] life.

New Podcast: The Tax-Free Church

Our latest podcast presents seven minutes (and seven seconds) of wisdom entitled “The Tax-Free Church.”

This was inspired in part by articles in the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post about churches that flagrantly violate federal laws and claim that as Christians they have the right to do so. It is big news... and getting bigger as we rapidly approach the 2008 Presidential elections.

Granted, this is a heated and historic Presidential election season... but no where in the Bible does it tell us to back our favorite politician and curse the opposition in church when we should (more importantly) be doing the work of the gospel. You know... feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, preaching good news to those who are captive? Yeah... that sort of thing.

In Everything, Give Thanks!

Our latest podcast presents seven minutes (and seven seconds) of wisdom entitled “In Everything, Give Thanks!” When life gives you lemons, you can make lemonade. Ten Minutes of Wisdom: Prick Kicking

Our latest podcast presents ten minutes of wisdom entitled “Prick Kicking.” This isn’t about bar fighting but, rather, about ministries whose ministry is to attack other ministries.

This seven minute podcast is available by clicking the icon below (or, right-click to download the MP3).

Our key scriptures are Acts 5:17-41 and Acts 9:4-6.

Seven Minutes of Wisdom: True Religion

Our latest podcast presents seven minutes of wisdom entitled “True Religion.” We see people like Al Qaeda who feel that their religion warrants blowing up innocent men, women and children (despite that the Qur'an teaches the opposite). We see people like Ted Haggard preaching against homosexuality yet winding up in an embarrassing situation. Then, there is poor little Britney Spears who was raised in the church but lately seems only determined to raise hell.

We can point fingers at the aforementioned... or others. But truth be told, we all have sin in our lives. We just haven’t been caught (yet). So what exactly is true religion... and how do we live it? Download this seven-minute podcast by clicking or, right-click the icon below:

Here are the scriptures that we referenced:

Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 The Lockman Foundation

⁸[^[a]You behave as if] you are already filled and think you have enough [you are full and content, feeling no need of anything more]! Already you have become rich [in spiritual gifts and graces]! [Without any counsel or instruction from us, in your conceit], you have ascended your thrones and come into your kingdom without including us! And would that it were true and that you did reign, so that we might be sharing the kingdom with you!

1^st Corinthians 4:8 (Amplified Bible)

---

²⁶If anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external duties of his faith) and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person's religious service is worthless (futile, barren).

²⁷External ^[a]religious worship [^[b]religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.

James 1:26-27 (Amplified Bible)

Loose Lips Sink Ships

It is interesting that many of us are quick to speak and slow to hear... the opposite of what God wants from us. We thought about how people can be so willing to blab-blab-blab that they forget that whatever you say may be used against you.

Our latest podcast provides you with seven minutes of wisdom about guarding your mouth.
